The case for professional level lighting specification

We believe that installing a professional grade of lighting products makes sense for owners that are able to stretch their initial budget.  Professional grade equipment will use a combination of lighting drivers and low voltage circuits to the light fittings.  The initial advantage of low voltage over 240v products should be apparent on commissioning.   Usually, the greater range of beam angles, superior colour quality, smoother dimming, quieter operation and neater appearance is good value for the extra money.

However a second advantage is equally important.  The lack of light bulbs to change is a major plus.  Changing them is a cost and a hassle, but that is not the main problem.  Obtaining the same bulb again is the problem.  When different bulbs are used the project has the potential to degrade.  LED bulbs vary more than halogen in their appearance and performance and so matching the original is often an issue.  The more the bulbs vary the further the project moves from the original design intent.

In Summary, professional quality of lighting equipment and controls will not only result in a higher quality initial project, but it will go a long way towards ensuring that the project still looks good 10-15 years later.
