OWL Lighting was established almost 20 years ago.   Founders Paul & Sally Stephenson have a solid background in lighting design established over many years, and explain how it all began ….

Paul has been involved in the architectural design industry since the 1980’s, working on award-winning projects across the Middle East and Asia.  In 1996 he set up Clearvision Lighting,  introducing Virtual Daylight ©, the first brand of artificial daylight into the UK.

“I was inspired to start OWL Lighting after Paul was approached by many clients and friends asking for help with their homes.  We realised that there was a real demand for expert advice in home lighting” says Sally “At that time most lighting designers concentrated on commercial projects and we wanted OWL to focus entirely on residential projects.  Our goal was to bring the high standards, technical & product knowledge from the commercial sector, combined with interiors expertise and an understanding of how people live in their homes, to residential projects.”

In 2016 Paul left Clearvision to join Sally at OWL Lighting and has since taken over the project management and specification functions of the practice.

Since 2005 OWL has designed over 450 projects,  specialising in residential lighting design at the upper end of the market with a particular emphasis on architecturally challenging buildings including listed houses and barns.
