Country Farmhouse project

Country Farmhouse project

This was a very happy project to work on.

We were engaged directly by the client and, guided by both her & her architect’s clear vision, we collaborated closely with the contractor and the other designers for the 18 months of the build.

“Working with the Owl team was a big part of the success of our entire project.  I’ve carried out multiple renovations myself, but I knew early on that I would need specialist lighting input for this full renovation to really bring the building to life.” Client.

The original house was a traditional farmhouse with far reaching views over the countryside.  The architect, Stuart Martin designed an extension and sympathetic renovation of the existing house.

Our client commissioned designers and artists to create bespoke pieces for the house and the joy of working on this project was in designing a lighting scheme to enhance them.

We decided on a feature pendant for the double height drawing room but everything we looked at was wrong – after months of research we couldn’t find anything that worked.

Finally, after nearly a year of searching we found exactly the right piece.  A site visit to try out a sample confirmed  it and we were able to give the go ahead and commission a bespoke fitting the room.    Once it was up it was perfect and nothing else would have done!

A final word from our client : “The final results are better even than we’d hoped for … I wouldn’t dream of doing another project without Owl.”
